A city drawn in long clean lines.

Architecture, shade and the lived details that make a plan human.

Chandigarh

First passage

I begin Chandigarh with long clean lines. It is a place to start looking at the labour, landscape, memory and changing present that gather around a single thread. A real portrait needs many voices and many return visits. This first passage simply leaves the door open.

This is a first doorway, not a total account of a place. As the archive grows, I will shape these stories with local knowledge, review and full credit to the people in them.

Four ways to meet a place.

01

Food

Street snacks, dhabas and good coffee sit comfortably beside a planned city’s calm.

02

Festival

The Rose Festival and the city calendar offer public moments without needing a grand spectacle.

03

Flora & fauna

Sukhna Lake and nearby green corridors make room for birds and evening walkers.

04

Fashion & craft

Everyday style here often feels clean, bright and unfussy.
