Orchha's cenotaphs and Khajuraho's temples, then the royal bath of the Ujjain Simhastha Kumbh. After the crowds I follow the Narmada to Maheshwar, the ruins of Mandu, Bhimbetka's rock shelters, and the Gond painters of Patangarh near Kanha.
